Walk to The Green

The Green is our adjoining neighborhood and an easy walk from this home.  There you'll find an open park great for frisbee, kites, and park bench conversations.  On the adjoining corner is a large three story building all set to host several small businesses.  Across the street lies one of the areas best private schools and the local Catholic church, St. Mary Magdalene's.

8 Lanes

Ever feel a bit cramped at your neighborhood pool?  That probably won't happen at Scotts Mill.  Enjoy one of the very few 8 lane pools in Apex.  Wide decks, a clubhouse with bathrooms and changing areas, and plenty of chairs and umbrellas with which to enjoy the day.  Pool passes can be coded to allow for adult early entry for lap swimming in the morning.  Its great place to cool off, get in a few laps and hang out with your friends and neighbors.

4 Acres to Play

The Scotts Mill Recreation complex is one of the best and biggest in town. In addition to the neighborhood pool, enjoy a sand volleyball court, basketball, tennis courts,  the playground and lots of room to roam.

Swim With The Dragons

In the summer of 2010 a few parents and kids from the neighborhood decided to form a swim team.  Eleven summers later, Scotts Mill boasts one of the premier clubs in the Triangle Swim Association. For ten weeks each year, kids and their families gather at the pool to learn the basics of the sport and challenge other clubs from the area.  Three electric nights in June and July, the Sea Dragons host a meet that puts a little extra excitement in the whole neighborhood.  Find out more at their web site, and make sure you get a few laps with the Sea Dragons.

Take a Hike!

Scotts Mill is filled with front porches and sidewalks.  During warm weather, most of the residents get out to take a walk and connect with neighbors.  Walk to the pool, park, vollyeball courts, or to the town square up in The Green.  Its also easy to extend your hike from the sidewalks to the Apex Greenway network that connects to the neighborhood.

Want to really extend your walk?  Scotts Mill is just a short drive to access points for the American Tobacco Trail.  Take your hike from Apex all the way to Durham on that trail for walking and biking.

Simple Life

Looking for a place to make a home, but not a fuss?  This may be the best property for you.  Surrounded by much larger homes that do nothing but escalate the value of this house, you can get in and get out quickly.  It's not too much to clean, paint, or maintain, but holds all the values of  a detached, stand-alone house.  The current owners love the fact that summer yard chores are routinely done in 45 minutes, the utility bills are manageable, and they still have room for a guest whenever accommodations are needed.  Great neighbors and community activities are easily found, but it's still a very private house whenever you want to shut the doors and just get away.  Find out more each week by subscribing to the updates for this blog.  Its a small home with a big dose of the simple life.
